MALIBU , CA - Given the Pepperdine server failures last week and the inability of Sophomores and Freshmen to register for classes until this week, U.S. News & World Report has pushed Pepperdine back a few spaces to #51 on the National Universities ranking list.
U.S. News & World Report commented that they base much of their metrics on the overall satisfaction of students at the listed institutions. Among the various factors, they use peer assessment to determine school rankings. They further stated that the combination of poor registration experiences, lack of available housing, and a mediocre parking situation ultimately brought down the peer reviews by significant margins.
“I am shook. Pepperdine has always been improving and rising in the national view. This must be a sign from Jesus that he is not pleased with Pepperdine’s trajectory. If more students went to convocation this never would've happened,” commented John O’Dowd, a distressed sophomore.
Pepperdine administration officials are struggling to address this demotion, as much of the university’s recent advertising has concerned Pepperdine’s recent leap to 46th place on the U.S. News & World Report rankings.
AKB could not be reached for comment, but rumors suggest that SGA has the situation fully under control.
