Undertow News

March 2017 - Pepperdine Seaver students had the idea of a satirical news source based on the events and happenings at Pepperdine University. The news source was originally called "The Alternative Graffic", a play on Pepperdine's official student news source "The Graphic". The founders assembled their small team of writers. Initially, Undertow news was going to be a club convo. However, after much deliberation, the founders decided it would be better to be separate from the University.

April 2017 - The Pepperdine Graphic published their own satirical news paper for April Fools Day, called "The Grunion". This really freaked the Undertow's founders out, and they started to move their idea forward faster because of it.

Website construction began.

May 2017 - The team began to construct what this satirical news source would look like. They settled on the name "Undertow News". The team also began to develop story ideas.

July 2017 - July 4th our first story was published on the Undertow News website.
