Overheard: Freshman Student Shocked at the Diversity of Pepperdine
An overheard conversation between freshman Chad Owens and Anna Hirano has been anonymously submitted to Undertow News. The two were seen talking during NSO after the Frosh Follies competition.
Owens was later contacted by Undertow Staff for additional comments about the overheard conversation.
“By the third day of NSO I’d already seen two black guys and I talked to three Asians,” said Owens.
“I’m super stoked to add some ethnic people to my friend group!” Owens added. “I’ve gone to private school all my life, I guess I just expected Pepperdine to be the same. This is a pleasant surprise though! Sugoi!”
