MALIBU, CA - Having enrolled in two courses during the summer session, rising junior Henry Caine described summer sessions as, “Pretty much the same except it takes a lot longer for the darkness to come and wrap me in its tender embrace until the sun rises once again.”
Caine noted he enjoyed the nice change of pace between living in Towers and living in the freshman dorms. “The freshman dorms are a few minutes closer to campus so that’s pretty nice,” Caine said before adding, “But when the darkness comes it matters not.”
“Sure, classes are a lot longer and more compressed, but I’ve taken two four hour classes during the regular semester, so it’s not too huge of a difference for me,” Caine said. “I actually prefer the more rigorous pace of the summer courses, just like I prefer the way the sun’s light fades from my world. It happens much earlier in the fall and winter. My soul, in its fragile vessel, feels renewed once again.”
Sources close to Caine noted that he also finds great fulfillment in the day through his part time job at SunLife.
